Baby Classes

Anyone else planning on taking birth, baby, breastfeeding, etc. classes?

I am a hospital employee. If we take certain classes, we are locked in to only having to pay $100 for delivery! That's c-section, multiples, anything (except NICU), just $100.

We took our first class last night- Healthy Pregnancy. Nothing fabulous or groundbreaking. Next we take a 2 day class, Birth & Baby. All others are optional. I think it would be beneficial to do the class on Multiples too.

ETA: Interesting fact: The classes were started 5 years ago because the NICU's were staying full with PTL babies. When they took a look to who the mom's were it was hospital employees! So, keeping one baby out of NICU pays for a years worth of the classes, or something like that. I was shocked!

  • We took a birthing class and a baby care class. They were not very beneficial to me, but they were for MH. The birthing class gave him an idea of what to expect...although it was heavily unmedicated birth influenced...which I was pretty sure I didn't w

I think we will take a Bradley class
  • I think for all four classes we only paid $50. The bfing class and the l&d class were the most beneficial to me.
  • I just signed up for classes the other day - super exciting!  (After looking at my 'schedule' for August, though, it looks like I'm going back to college, haha!)

We're taking a 4-course Childbirth Education course which also allows us to tak

  • There's a lame-sounding (but free) one at our hospital that we'll probably take. I also think I'll sign up for the 2-day course at Rosie Pope Maternity.

  • We just took the hospital class last time. They did a good job telling use what the hospital policies and procedure were, but that was about it. This time we are taking a bradlry class. I also bought a book on hypnobirthing. I really hated the epidura

  • That is an awesome benefit for hospital employees!
I took a basic childbirth class with DD. Honestly, I didn't think it was helpful at all when the time came but I guess it was good to be prepared.
  • We have to switch hospitals, and the new one requires that we take a couple of them. I also want to take the BF class, because evn though this will be baby number 3, I've never been able to make it to a class! I did bf dd2 for 6 months, but wouldn't mind

  • I think all FTMs should take birth classes. I cant tell you how unprepared I was for birth even after all of the reading I did. We did hypnobirthing classes in private courses Mongan theory and while it was nice to know, it taught us nothing about how i

  • Bradley method for us, tho the 12weeks is still daunting!
  • So far just gonna take parenting classes but as of now I do not have a partner so I will have to take my grandpa or someone haha
  • We're doing a hospitalrun 4 session course on parenting. There is also a BFing class that I just show up to later in pregnancy. Not sure what else I'll do, but my prenatal yoga will cover a lot of breathing techniques.
