I'm 36 weeks and 5 days along in my pregnancy. Should I go ahead boil them (meaning the bottles, nipples, & pacifiers), wash them, and put them away in the cupboard to have them ready?
I'm 38 weeks 3 days and I did mine two days ago-it actually takes a lot of time to wash, boil and or steam everything. So go for it while you have the energy. It wiped me out, haha
I was told in my newborn care and BF class that LO shouldn't have a bottle or pacifier for the first 4-6 weeks if you plan on EBF so I havent even taken mine out of the packages yet. Just personal preference I guess!
We didn't introduce a bottle for 4 weeks, but we did use a pacifier right away for both girls. I'm thinking I might sterilize a couple pacifiers to bring to the hospital just in case.

I'd wait. DD was super picky about the type of bottle she'd eat from. The "flow" varies from brand to brand. Even though it says slow it may be faster from one brand to the next. It took us several tries to see which one was right for her. And we waste
I've been thinking about doing that for a while.... I think I'm going to start the process of it tonight and start putting them away. It can't hurt! One less thing to do before you want to just lounge all the time.
Like pp said, my childbirth class stressed that if you wanted to successfully breastfeed you shouldn't introduce any type of pacifier/bottle/etc for at least 4 weeks. Since I want to try bf-ing, I didn't even buy any bottl
For those of you who are planning to wait 46 weeks or whatever before introducing a bottle or paci for fear of "nipple confusion," know that it's not necessarily true.

Re: When to sterilize & wash baby bottles, etc...
Why not?
ETA I did mine like a month ago (and I'm not quite 36 weeks yet). Once they're done, they're done and you can cross them off of your to-do list.

I just did this -- and breast pump parts -- like 20 minutes ago.
Or rather, my mom did this while I called out instructions from teh sofa, because I'm on bedrest. ;-)
BFP #1: 5/10/12; 5/22/12: pregnancy deemed not viable (probably CP)
BFP #2: 8/2/12; Due date: 4/14/13, DD born 4/5/2013
BFP #3: 11/2/14, Due date: 7/7/15

We don't plan to boil - I think a trip through the dishwasher should do the job. Haven't done it yet, but will do it soon.
We bought two different brands of bottles (for when the hubs goes back to work and we're bottle-feeding BM). F
