For the Mom's who's babies don't poop at night, has it been this way sense they were newborns? My baby poops pretty much after every feeding, even at night. Will it get better as he gets older?
Yes, most babies slow down on the constant pooping as they get older. He will start to obsorb more of his food and have less expelling. At about 7 weeks old (4 1/2 weeks adjusted) my girls started going several days without having a poopy diapers. Of course my girls were formula feed and I don't know if that makes a difference. My Pedi said it is normal for a baby to go as long as 5 days without a poopy diaper and it is not considered constipation, so when it happens don't panic until it gets to be past 4-5 days or if when he goes it is hard and pellet like, then he needs to be seen by the doc for possible constipation.
At 4 mos. old (3 mos 1 week adjusted) my girls go usually once a day, sometimes 1 every 2 days. They hardly ever go at night anymore, although it does sometimes happen since they STTN 12 hours now, so inevitably it is bound to happen at night sometimes.
