Had cervix stretched?

Anyone else had their cervix stretched? Yesterday at my appointment my midwife was cheching my cervix and said I was 1/2cm 30 effaced, then she said, "this is going to hurt, but, I'm going to help things along here ok? I'm going to manually stretch your cervix s little bit" I agreed, and it hurt like hell! Nothing has happened so far, and I'm scheduled for an induction Sunday night. But I'm just wondering if anyone else had this done. Did it do anything? I can't find much about it when I google.

To be honest, I think the last nurse in L&D did it without warning me. Usually cervical checks don't hurt, nor do I bleed... but this nurse said before she did anything "This is going to feel uncomfortable and you will bleed, but it will be okay it

See my midwife said I'd have some spotting but I didn't so I'm wondering if it did anything. I had some on and off contractions and cramping, but that is nothing new...

I had this done yesterday at my 38 week appt.  I have been the same 1.5cm since 36 weeks and my doctor said that she was going to try and stretch my cervix and see if it would help things along.  OUCH is right!!!  I had bad cramping and spo
