Onesies at 18 months?

Anyone still using onesies?  SIL just got DS an outfit that had a onesie and it was 18 months.  I very rarely use them now, and can't imagine putting one on DS when he starts wearing 18 months. I usually do not like returning things she gets him, but I also do not want to have things he will never wear.  She included the receipt so that makes me think she does not mind me returning it, what do,you think?

Also he is still wearing 9 months, just started wearing some 12 month outfits.

  • I would hang on to it. My niece discovered she could remove her pants and diaper, so she wore onesies until she passed the 24 month size. She could not overcome the snaps at the bottom!

  • Up to you it really doesn't matter. We still wear onsies because some of his 9 month clothes are still to big so his pants are always hanging which is a lot of little belly getting cold air :) We mainly just wear footy pjs to daycare these days and at hom

  • I still put DS in onsies because when he's moving aroun his shirt rides up and I don't want his little belly to be cold since it's sitll winter. Plus I like the look of it being nice and tighter rather than a shirt that is flowing. Just my personal pefe

  • I thought it was the norm to keep kids in onsies for a while.  I wear onsies on my lo and have a  bunch in size 24m that I plan on using.  I think the clothes fit better, the diaper stays more secure, and I like that extra layer of warmt

  • DS is 16 months, and wears 18 month clothing. He wears both t shirts and onesies, depending on the outfit. He's not nearly close to PTing, so I'm not worried about eliminating them from his wardrobe yet.

  • I think onesies are practical. LO wears them as outside shirts and undershirts. Most days he wears one underneath a regular shirt, because the non-onesies ride up as he crawls and climbs. If you don't like the look of them on an older baby, you can always

  • My toddler just stopped wearing them during the day to due potty training, but still wears thm at night.
  • DD still wears onesies all the time. She's a really busy kid and if I just had her in a shirt it would probably be riding up all over the place and she would be chewing all over it. She wears 18 month stuff now.

  • My nephew is 21 months now and still wearing onesies under his tshirt. Not sure what size he wears (prob 24m) but he seems to do fine in them.

I give up on onesies around 12 months pretty much.  They will hardly stay still enough to get a diaper on, let alone have to snap a onesie, too.  Unless you love the outfit enough to wrestle longer, I would probably return.
