is $.50/hr a decent raise?

Background - nanny has been with us for a year, and I want to keep her indefinitely.  We are planning for #2 in spring/summer '14, and I'd love to keep the same nanny.  We are happy with her and want to keep her happy, thus the raise.  Obviously, I need to control our costs, but $.50 works out to an extra $25/week based on her hrs. Too little?

I would do a 5-7% raise.

I would also do a % increase.  Do you pay her hourly or just a flat rate per week?  Perhaps if she's hourly you can get away with a .25 or .50 increase, but otherwise I'd go with a % increase.  Where I teach we are looking at another 0% rai

She is paid hourly, but I like the idea of doing a 5% increase, that makes it easy.  Thanks!
