Progesterone

Hey ladies hope everyone is feeling well. So I'm in my 12th week and I'm supposed to be stopping my progesterone suppositories this week and I'm a little nervous. My doctor hasn't mentioned any blood work. Has anyone stopped cold turkey and how did you feel after?

Re: Progesterone

  • I didn't do them this time, but with DD I felt no difference. Other than not putting a cold slimy suppository in twice a day there was nothing notable.

  • I quit cold turkey at 13w3d. I was nervous but excited to be done with them. I didn't have any bloodwork done because the placenta should have taken over well before this point, and have not felt any changes except my nipples are less sensitive.

  • I took them while pregnant with DS. I tapered off instead of going cold turkey. I started feeling much better after I quit completely. I had horrible ms and fatigue with him and it helped a lot to not be on them anymore.

  • I was on injections and stopped cold. No blood work. You can request another panel if it would make you feel better. It is no big deal. I felt great after about a week. Less emotional, less ms... it was great!

  • This was my 1st time on them. Took them orally. 2 losses and they thoughtit was a good idea. I never had any blood work, for progesterone levels, before or after I took them. Anyway I swear it made me shaky for about 2 days after I stopped them.
  • I stopped at 13 weeks, no bloodwork. My doctor told me that by 12 weeks or so, the placenta has taken over so no more supplements are needed. I didn't notice any difference, other than not having to deal with the inconvenience of wearing a panty liner all

  • Stopped cold turkey with my last and this pregnancy at 13 weeks. Everything was fine. No blood work was needed

  • I went through the same thing at 12 weeks but I stopped oral progesterone. I was really nervous about stopping. Everything has been fine so far and it's been nearly 4 weeks! Good luck and I know you'll be fine.
