Babies: 3 - 6 Months

Buying clothes for chunky baby

My 4 month old is short and chunky. He is wearing 9 month clothing, and I am having a really hard time finding pajamas that fit him. I really like Carter's, but they are made for long, skinny babies, and their one piece outfits just don't work for him. The footed pajamas are way too long (but he is bursting at the seams in the 6 month clothing).

Can anyone recommend a good brand to find clothes for short and chunky babies like mine? Especially one-piece, footed pajamas?

  • I think I read on another board that Gerber sleepers work well for short, chunky babies... Have you tried that brand?

  • Yes, I think Gerber onesies and sleepers would be good for short and chunky although their sizing runs a bit small so I would buy one size up. Circo from Target is also cut pretty wide so would probably work too, and their sizing is on the bigger

  • The Walmart Carter's clothes are cut wider.

  • Sorry to hijack the thread but I am reading this and laughing .... we have the opposite problem. My daughter is skinny and long with long feet so anything with feet isn't an option. Am picturing cutting the extra width off of our clothes for you and trad

  • Circo runs wide so he may fit in 6 months in that. I'm surprised people said Gerber because I think Gerber runs really narrow.

  • Gerber onesies do run narrow, but their sleepers are wider cut. The "Only One You" line from Carters is also wider cut.
