1st Failed IVF

Hi ladies- I have been on here for a few months but haven't said anything. I love reading what you all have to say and it is so great to have a place to go and talk. I am 29 and my DH is 31. We have been TTC for about 1.5 years now. Just had our first IVF attempt (ICSI) due to low sperm count and motility. We put in 2 embies 3dt....we had a positive beta the first two tests- only getting up to 54 and then down to 33 on the 3rd. Now the doc is saying it might be low egg quality and my ovaries are not acting like a 29 year olds....how did he make this conclusion?? (going to sit with him next week). Has this happened to anyone and it ended up being wrong? So confused and so hurt!
TTC since October 2011 9/12 DH low motility and morphology 11/12 polyp removed from my uterus (everything else seems to be ok with me) IVF #1 2/13: (transferred 2 embies on 2/25) 12p3dt- 10 15p3dt- 54 17p3dt- 22 unable to freeze the remaining 3.

    I really can't answer your questions.  I just wanted to let you know Im sorry.  Our 1st & 2nd IVFs both failed with nothing to freeze.  I understand the hurt and confused feeling.  Hang in there.  I'm here if you need someone

    Me:29 DH:29  TTC since 1/11 Dx: unexplained IF/early DOR/immune issues 
    Feb'12- July'12-testing(all clear minus slight arcuate ute), 3 IUI with clomid all BFN
    8/30IVF#1 Antagonist protocol- ER 9/11-8R, 7M, 5F. 
    ET 9/14 2 embies transferred. 1 10cell Grade 4, 1 8cell Grade 4. No frosties. BFN
    IVF#2 Antagonist protocol plus baby aspirin- ER 12/5-16R, 12M, 8F!
    ET 12/10 5dt! 1 fully expanded blast & 1 early blast. No frosties. BFN
    3/13 hysteroscopy & polypectomy, Consulted w Dr. Kwak-Kim.  
    DX: High NK cells, cytokines, DHEAs& PAI1;  hypothyroid, +APA, restricted bloodflow
    7/13 IVF#3 Long lupron protocol with PIO, Crinone, Prometrium, and vivelle
    (plus synthroid, metformin, baby asa, metanx, PNV, Vit E, D, calcium, fish oil, CoQ10, IVIg infusions and lovenox per Dr. Kwak-kim)
    ER 7/19 14R, 11M, 9F(4 natural fert, 5 with ICSI)
    ET 5dt 7/24 2 fully expanded blasts.  SURPRISE 3 FROSTIES!!!
    Beta #1 8/2 335!!!! Beta #2 829!!!  1st u/s 8/14 showed TWINS!!!!!
    11/11: TEAM PURPLE!!!!!

    I had 2 failed IVFs and know that it is hard but I also had a successful IVF also.

    ((hugs)) A failed IVF sucks so bad! How many eggs were retrieved, how many mature and how many fertilized? It could be your response to the meds that makes him think there is an issue with your eggs/ovaries.

    you guys are awesome. 14 eggs were retrieved-- 9 mature, we had 5 embryos growing. The 3 we were going to freeze, didn't make it.

    I'm so sorry your first IVF failed.  Have you thought about what steps you will take next? 
    Me (37) DH (39); PCOS changed to Unexplained, changed to DOR in 2012 (finally a correct diagnosis!); 
    Started TTC 2009 with RE after 6 months.  
    Clomid + Trigger x2; 
    IUI + Femara x1,
    IUI + Follistim x2;
    IVF #1 (MDL) February 2013- BFN.
    IVF #2 (antagonist) May 2013, First BFP of my life. 
    Identical twin miracle BOYS (!!) headed our way- due date is technically 2/4/14 but c section is scheduled for 1/7!

    I'm so sorry for your loss.

    Having that glimmer of hope just to get it ripped away from you is absolutely horrible. I'm also sorry your RE was less than helpful in this difficult moment. I hope you get some answers soon and that he's wrong.

    So sorry to hear about your loss. You are pretty young to have poor quality eggs. I would get another opinion or question the protocol. Although, even in the best IVF candidates it doesn't always work and there is nothing to blame other than just an unluc
