I know this isn't really "a thing" but when we hired our doula, her fee was only $200 as she was not yet DONA certified, but had attended 4 births, with 4-5 more coming up before mine. Now she is certified, has attended several births and her fee on her website says she now charges $400-$600.
Even though she hasn't yet supported me in my labor & delivery, she has been INVALUABLE in so many ways already. So helpful on anything and everything, extremely reassuring and I just cannot say enough good things about her. And even before I found out how helpful she was/is, I felt like we were getting way more than we were paying her for (2 prenatal visits, plus she comes to my house when in labor, stays with me until after I've delivered and then comes 2 more times after the birth)
SO, all that being said, I want to get her a gift to let her know how much I appreciate her. I don't know a TON about her personally other than that she has 2 boys, she is in to birthy stuff (training to be a Hypnobirth instructor also) and that she makes adorable cakes and cupcakes for people on the side.
Any ideas on what you might get someone like that?
