I
have really, really been struggling with CDing lately. We moved 6 weeks ago to a place with a HE washer, and I've had a battle figuring out the "right" laundry system. And now
DS is leaking at night, every night, A TON, despite us doing our usual
stuffing (hemp + bamboo). Even when we put him in a Twinkie Tush or a BuBuBeBe with a cover (not wool) the covers don't seem to offer full coverage (we have SB Capris and Flips). And they're having leaks at his new daycare, which is odd (his old daycare had CONSTANT leaks, but this new daycare hadn't had any leaks until last week).
And I've discovered that in quite a few of our BG4.0 diapers (which I bought used) the PUL is no longer working because it's cracked (Is there
anything I can do with a pocket with PUL that no longer works?)... hence the
leaks sometimes (other times it just seems to be that he's filling them). He's 2 and 4 months. It's like, we're soooo close
(possibly--right now any mention of the potty gets a loud, "NOOOOO!") but
between the leaks, the laundry (I work FT M-F, DH works 2 jobs, I do
laundry every-other-night but that means I get backed up on clothing
laundry; I HATE stuffing diapers and we only use pockets for DC), and
just the frustration I want to wave the white flag. I know I probably
won't, but I hate this. And I wonder how many more diapers are going to
be unusable before we're done. It seems too late in the game to buy
more. /end rant

Re: Feel like giving up on CDing.
If you line dry your diapers, try to dry them for a few mins on hot to seal the PUL.
With our HE washer, it sucks, but we do a delicate cycle at the beginning and then hot cycle w/ detergent and another delicate cycle at the end.

My HE has a rinse and spin cycle, I do that before washing in Hot. I have a "bulky" button that I makes it add more water, and then I switch the other settings to what I want, ie "hot" "extra dirty" etc. Don't know what your machine has but you c
I rarely put my PUL covers and shells in the dryer. I think I've done it exactly twice in the 9 months that I've CD'd.
Maybe it's your dryer? Do you think it might run too hot for your PUL?
What about your water quality? Do you have hard wa
