Hi everyone,
I am 30, and DH is 29. I'm new to 3T, but have been actively TTC since Dec 2011. We tried for 14 cycle unsuccessfully before I asked my doc to refer me to an RE. So this cycle has been a whirlwind of appointments and more people looking at, and thinking about, my vag than I'm used to.
So far, we have had:
CD3 bloodwork and an ultrasound - Bloodwork looks great, hormone levels all normal, and according to my RE I have a rockstar uterus. I also have a fibroid (which I am told it typical of Black women), but my RE says that it's in about the best place one can be and shows no signs of possible interference with pregnancy.
SA and blodwork for DH - he actually had his appointment today. He got 1 vial of blood taken, and made such a big deal about it. So I had to remind him that at my appt the vampires took a total of 8 vials of blood from me and I went back to work just fine.
Next on my list is the HSG, which leads to my question.
I am an avid gym rat and have a very strict 6 day/week gym schedule. I have been reading up on people's experience with HSGs and have the antibiotic script from my RE and plan to take a few advil or tylenol before the appt. But will I really be out of commission for the rest of the day? I have the day off, but would I not be able to go to the gym? My appt is for 8:30 am and my typical Thursday class (Step Aerobics) is at 7pm that evening. I typically work out even during the most painful days of my period and actually find that it helps the cramping and pain.
I plan to ask the docs tomorrow, but thought I'd ask if any of you could advise me from experience.
Anyway, it is nice to know that there is such a great community of women to dicsuss troubles TTC and I/F treatment with. Specifically because DH and I haven't even told anyone that we are TTC let alone TTTC! I hope you'll welcome me.
Re: 3T Newbie Intro and a Question about HSG
Welcome to the board! Glad you're in full swing on getting all proper testing done.
As for HSG, I didn't have much pain after it was over at all. I had mine at 9am and then by noon had to go to work. I work retail at Tar.get and
