Babies: 3 - 6 Months

Baby food

Ok so I'm not planning on starting e on babyfood for a couple more months but I'm a planner so I'd like to think ahead. I really want to make my own baby food!! I got a magic bullet for Christmas so I want to use that. I've read online that you basically steam the fruit or veggies and pure with water. Can't I use my breast milk? Wouldn't it be better? I have such a big freezer stash that I'd love to have a use for! How are you making your baby food? Any tips?

  • You can absolutely use breastmilk.  I boiled carrots, sweet potatos and beets.  I mix them with organic fruits and he has liked all of it.  Check out weelicious.com

  • I started making mine ahead of time, I used a small amount of fresh breast milk and I am freezing the puree in 1 tablespoon containers; that's about the amount he is eating right now.  So far I made bananas; puree in the food processor until smooth a
  • Most of the recipes i've found for home-made baby food suggest using the BM instead of water so you should be fine. I am also building up my freezer stash so I have plenty to use when we get to this point with LO.
