1st Trimester

Denial? And nausea? 7 weeks

I found out I'm pregnant about 2 weeks ago (4 days after our wedding day!) i will be 8 weeks tomorrow. Is it normal to be a women, see those 2 lines and big flashing Pregnant and still not believe it until you get into the drs office!? Probably doesn't help that my husband doesn't believe it just yet and I know that's totally normal.

also, this is our first pregnancy, i have heard that once you get morning sickness you get it continuously, every day at that same time. So is it normal to not feel nauseous every day? And not have tender breasts every day? The symptoms seems to switch off and come and go when I least expect it. Also, tums peppermint is a godsent!

Re: Denial? And nausea? 7 weeks

  • Congrats!! I found out I was pregnant 3 weeks after my wedding. I am 7w 1d and haven't had any ms yet at all. My symptoms do come and go. Some days my boobs hurt so bad and some it's less. Some days I have cramps and some less. It's totally normal to be in denial in the 1st trim and even the beginning of the 2nd. I think until that baby is seen on u/s and they are kicking I keep wondering if its still in there. Congrats again.

  • I've already had my first ultrasound, scheduled for my second next week and sometimes I still don't believe it.  And yes, it's normal to feel nauseous every day, some women even have nausea all day.  And regarding the boobies, yes it's normal for them to not be as tender some days.  There will likely even be days where you don't feel particularly "pregnant" at all.  Some symptoms seem to come and go as they please, it's all pretty normal :)

  • Oh and to add, you might not get it at the same time every day.  Some women do but you might get it in the morning one day and the next day at night, it can vary.  Hope this helps.

  • Thank you ladies! Have you told anyone yet? My husband wants to tell his mom and I am really cautious and think we should wait until 12 weeks... Maybe it's the denial again, I don't want to get everyone excited for nothing. I also come from a line of women who easily miscarried so I'm super scared, never thought I would've this way lol

We told our parents the day we found out!  It's always up to you as to when and who you want to tell, everyone is different.  Some prefer to wait, while others basically scream it from mountain tops the second the pee stick shows a positive result.  We told our families because the way we saw it, worst case scenario if something bad did happen, we'd at least have their support for it.  Who and when you tell is all up to you :)

I laughed at this because this was me with my first.  For some reason, I thought that the home pg tests can't be that accurate.  Then I go in for my first appt and the nurse uses a home pg test to verify!

  • I know the feeling! I had my first appointment yesterday and my doctor confirmed it for me and I had an U/S. Before that for 2 1/2 weeks I thought the 4 HPT I took were lying to me. I'm now 9 weeks. When you tell family and friends is completely up to you. I was going to wait till I was 12 weeks but I was just to excited to keep it in.
  • Oh good hahahhah

well I went out and bought a onesie today...first step to telling people? Lol we have to wait to get me on as my husbands dependent and then waiting to get to a dr is going to just kill me! I started taking prenatals day 1 though and eating healthy. I can't help but be really nervous with this first one!

  • I'm 7ish weeks. Denial. I'm accepting it more and more, but still in denial. Have an ultrasound Thursday, hoping the heartbeat brings more reality.

As for symptoms, they'll come and go.
