I need to vent!

A girl I used to babysit is pregnant with a baby girl. She is 15. I expcted the facebook invite for the baby shower and was correct. Doesn't bother me.

A week or so later she posts her registry. She has over 200 items and has about 30 guests. She is registered for over 25 picture frames, 25 albums and 10 bath tubs not to mention multiple cribs, high chairs, and pack and plays. She hardly has any clothes or other necessities on this registry and some other adults I know going to the shower are choosing to buy something not on the registry and someting they think she needs.

Today is one week from the shower and she is removing other young girls from her shower page and announcing on the shower page that "B*****S better not show up." There is now a fb war on her personal page.

I really just don't want to even attend anymore. UGH. End rant.

Wow, she sounds super ready for motherhood. Given her age, I'm not surprised by the FB drama. But I'm legitimately baffled by the multiple items on her registry. Does she want a different high chair for every day of the week? Are her parents divorced? Maybe she thinks she needs gear for her mother's house, her father's house, the baby's father's house, her grandmother's house, etc? I hope someone sets her straight. That's a confusing registry.

Thats the thing! His parents are out of the picture and she lives with the father and her parents. All under one roof. So unless they are needing one for each room of the house I am not sure whaats going on. Haha.

I hope for the best for this child. Her age terrifies me but I hope she suprises us all.

Given her age, what did you expect? I think it's sadder that it sounds like she doesn't have any adult guidance helping her figure out what she needs. I hope it's not indicative of how her parenting is going to go.

Give her something she will use/needs and dont attend. It sounds painful.
