Frustrated with Doc

I am so frustrated with my doctor. I called his office on Tuesday, and spoke with his nurse. I told her that I was not comfortable taking the Clomid he prescribed without the proper monitoring and testing beforehand. She said she had noted my concerns, would speak with him, and he would be calling me back. Nothing! I have heard zilch from him (or his office) since! I need a little advice. Would you try calling back next week until you get him? Or, should I just move on to another doctor to try to get what I need? I have only seen him one time, so its not as if we have history. Its just frustrating, I have given him nearly a week to respond. All I requested was testing with an HSG/SA and that I would agree to do the Clomid cycles with proper bloodwork and u/s for monitoring. Did I scare him off? Lol.

I would go to another doctor. If he can't find the time to call you back or have a nurse call you and tell you when he will call then I would move on.

This! I left my first re due to poor communication. You have to be comfortable with your dr.

I recently switched docs (my PCP) due to not getting return phone calls.  In my case, I know it was the office staff and not the doc.  I gave them several chances, but grew too frustrated.  I always like to give people a second chance.  Personally, I'd call next Monday first thing, expressing frustration that I wasn't called back.  If by Tuesday afternoon/Wednesday morning you haven't heard, I'd switch.  If there is a practice manager, I'd ask to speak with them directly regarding the situation and your discontent.  That's just me though.....if you feel like you should move on now because you are uncomfortable now with the doc, move on.  Just know that it might not be the doc, but maybe he never received the message?

I do think that maybe he just didn't get the message. I work at the hospital where he has priviledges at the communications hub, meaning we anwers calls, work switchboard, page drs. I chose to go to him because he always takes his calls for patients, he seemed very nice. I was afraid I made him angry or offended him by second guessing his decision.

No way, you should be feeling guilty about that. It is his responsibility to get back to you, especially with such a sensitive subject as IF. I would give it another day and see if he seems genuinely apologetic about it. I don't think he is offended by your requests, and I wouldn't throw him under the bus just yet.

I feel like if you are having doubts and communication issues this early on then you might feel better getting a second opinion. I think your requests are absolutely reasonable also and necessary before testing out Clomid as well.
