Trouble TTC

Newbie Intro!

Hi Ladies!

I wanted to introduce myself in hopes of having a supportive place where everyone is going through the same thing!  My name is Keri and my husband Ryan and I have been TTC for about 2 years now.  While I love the hubs dearly, he just isn't the best with talking about these kinda things! :) I'm hoping that's where you guys come in!!

Last summer I went to my OB after about a year and a half of TTC and cried the whole way home.  My interpretation the appointment was 5 minutes of basically "Your insurance isn't going to cover this and you should probably see a specialist".  I was there for answers, advice and encouragement and left with nothing.

It might sound silly, but needless to say after being bummed from that we waited another 6 months to go back to a doctor.  Always kept hoping 'maybe next month' 'maybe next month'.  So last winter we finally took the plunge and decided to see an RE.  Hubby had a SA - his count came back good, but the morphology was a little low and the viscosity (I think that was what it was called? I can't remember. Something about liquifying?) was a little low.  Overall the doc wasn't too worried though.  We have done 3 rounds of Clomid with an ultrasound and an HCG trigger.  I am ovulating just fine and have had one or two mature follicles each time.

This month we were switched to Femara, because the doc doesn't like to do too many months of Clomid in a row.  I just had an HSG test done last week and everything was all clear! Tuesday I went in for another ultrasound and had two good follicles. I triggered yesterday morning & had my first IUI this afternoon.

Anyways... that's my story so far!  I can't figure out how to do one of those signatures like you guys have??!  I'll have to play around a bit more with it.

I'm excited to get to know you guys to share advice & support!!

Let me know if I'm doing anything wrong or anything with these posts too!! :)

Re: Newbie Intro!

  • Hello and Welcome! ((Waves)), I am so sorry you have to be here but you found the right place for support! I am a little surprised your RE started you on clomid before getting an HSG, but I'm glad you did get that done. If you put all of that info (tests you've done, IUI, your age, how long TTC, etc) in your siggy then we can recognize you better. Maybe throw in a picture or two! You just have to press save about 50 times...Again, welcome and I hope your stay here is short! GL with this IUI! I hope it works for you!

  • Hi Keri! Welcome to the board! I agree the hubs is awesome but for some crazy reason he doesn't enjoy discussing TTTC 24/7. Imagine that, haha. Well we are happy to have you here. Good luck with your IUI! We are also doing IUI #1 this cycle.

  • Oh boy... I am struggling with the signature thing!  Advice!?

And he said he wasn't concerned about the doing the HSG right away because I didn't have any risk factors for it.  I ended up asking for it just to relieve my stress a bit and rule it out.

I'm totally side-eyeing your RE for that. You can have blocked tubes or any number of other issues without having risk factors. It's good you asked for one anyway.

  • Welcome! I just had my HSG too. Good luck with your 1st IUI.
