I received one from someone I have not talked to in 10 years. Barf.

I got scolded by one of DH's friends this week because my shower "was the only one she has going on right now where there wasn't an e-vite or FB invite".

(She hadn't RSVPd and the party host didn't have a way to contact her so I offered to reach out.)

Apparently the only way you can RSVP now a days is by e-communication and if you forget, it is the hosts fault for sending out a paper invite.

I guess I am just old school. I think events like this should be mailed out. At least this way people would only invite those they actually have contact with outside of fb.

I know, nothing is sacred anymore!!! It has to be done to "brag on freaking FB" how many "friends" ppl have.

I ignore all facebook evites.  I get so much facebook invite spam that it's just ridiculous.

The only use I really have for them is for charity events.  For example one of my friends hosted a charity night at Chik Filet and used facebook to make sure as many people knew as possible.

But for a shower, ick, I wouldn't even know it was there.

My SO is always amused that I send out real cards for stuff... Birthdays, Christmas, etc. since nobody in ''his circle'' does. Personally, I still like getting stuff in the mail, especially since I get so much email these days.
