Jesse - WDYT?

I love the name Jesse for a boy - it's normal, but not overdone.

WDYT?

    LOL.

Jesse is great. I love that it's such an easy name pronunciation & spelling wise and yes, it's a bit bad ass as well.

If we have a boy, we agreed on two middle names for him, DH's father & grandfather's names (Joseph & Anthony)

Jesse Joseph Anthony is too much but Jesse Anthony Joseph might be onto something.

I'd feel bad not including my dad in there though...sigh.

You're not alone.  I've never cared for this name. I think I just have a hard time taking this name seriously (I know it's a standalone name but I think of it more as a nn).

  • I like it. Familiar, but not overused at all-- especially not as of late.

  • Meh, its along the same lines as Casey to me.  Too feminine for a boy.

  • I'm not crazy about it, sounds dated, very 80s. My first thought goes to Uncle Jesse.
  • I love it!

I know a Jesse. Great person. So I have an awesome association.

  • I know it's a boys name, but it's my niece's name so that's what I associate it with. (it's BIL and FIL MN so he wanted to pass it along and has no boys) Like a pp has said it can come off as feminine because of it being a common NN for Jessica. I also think of Jessie Spano and Uncle Jesse - very 80's, 90's vibe. I also know a male with the name and he isn't a huge fan because of the female association he receives sometimes when people hear the name.

  • I get a very 80s, bad boy kind of vibe from it.  It's also a little WT to me, but I think that's due to some personal associations.

  • I love it! Too bad my DH vetoed it because of some high school association.
