Hello, I will be traveling to Florida in a month. Dd will be 3 months old and ds is 2 yrs old. I'm trying to decide what to bring in terms of strollers/carriers/etc.. Right now, dd loves the baby carrier and naps well in it. Ds loves walking (er, running) everywhere, but he will definitely need a stroller on this trip. We have his baby jogger single elite, and then we also have a baby jogger double elite. We have yet to try dd in the double stroller yet, as she is always in the carrier, but I know how quickly LOs can change and she might enjoy stretching out more by then--no idea! Any suggestions on what to take based on your experience? Should I opt for the double monster?
Re: Travel with 3 mo old and 2 yr old--stroller help
Thanks, this was really helpful! So your 3.5 month old was happy fully reclined in the double? I assume dd would be too, but I haven't tried it yet really b/c the weather here has been terrible. We aren't doing Disney on this trip (just visiting parents), but will in a year right after ds turns 3, so that is good to know for then too!
So, were you able to gate check the double stroller without any issues? Did you buy a bag to put the stroller in?
We just got back from FL. We gate checked our double with no problem, BUT, I wish we had just taken our single. DH wanted to just bring our single and rent a double at the parks if we needed one. We never needed one. DS rode in the stroller a little bit but prefers to walk/run around himself and DD prefers to be worn. Most of the time I was pushing around an empty stroller. They were not both in the stroller at the same time for more than 3 minutes.
We have this and really like it.
OP - If your double stroller isn't too bulky, it might be nice to have. Our DD is 3 1/2 months and does well in the stroller as long as she's strapped in well.
Thanks, it is huge, but if we can gate check it, which it sounds like we can, then that won't bother me. I just need to try dd out in it.
