I have 35 pockets and 4 covers right now in one-size.
I won't be buying any more if/when we have number 2 before we toilet train our first.
I do plan on buying newborn diapers (mostly prefolds and covers).
I know I'll be doing laundry at least every other day, but that will give me 11 extra pockets if I'm running a full load through the washer (24). I like to have one extra day of pockets always ready for daycare, which would be 5 diapers for my toddler and 6 for a 3 month old
I don't plan to buy more diapers, just do more laundry. I think I have about 25 pockets. No more will fit in a load anyway, and I do not want to let diaper laundry pile up.
My nephew is 10 months and my LO is 1 month (I live with my sister and brother-in-law) and we use Bummis prefolds and covers. We have 30 infant prefolds and 30 baby prefolds and I think 4 covers for each kid. For now they're in different sizes, but we should be fine once they're both in the same size.

I do have a separate newborn stash already.
