What does your child do for summer camp? Any cool things out there to break up the monotony of the camp at our daycare center? I'd love a dance and/ or science camp for one week. I'm in marietta east Cobb area.

I was just at the Zaban-Marcus Jewish Community Center in Dunwoody for a water aerobics class and grabbed one of their camp brochures. They have ridiculously cool camps, for all kinds of things (legos, robotics, acrobatics, graffiti, spy, animals, etc) and an East Cobb location.
And no, you don't have to be Jewish to attend.
I know the Smyrna-Vinings Macaroni Kid newsletter is coming out with a summer camp guide very soon. Not sure if the Marietta one would have the same. Also, Cobb County has some summer programs, or check with churches that have preschools, usually those have camps too.
I'm not sure how old your child is, but be warned that most places we looked at only took 3 and up. It was a bummer for us last year because DD was 2.5.
We do a weekly day camp where the girls take gymnastics (not really any help for you because I'm in Augusta), but Emma is going to a week long overnight summer camp through the Y and it is almot $800 motherfreakingdollars. I nearly died when I saw the total.
She wanted to do one of the overnight gymnastics camps with the UGA Gym dogs but that would be another $600 I think.
Just wanted to pass along a heads up, because I never thought about how expensive real summer camp was. I think you have to be 8 or 9 to attend btw.
$600-$800 for a week? Seriously? You could get her a studio apartment for that price, that's a month's rent! Looks like my kids will be going to summer camp at grandma's until they're in college. Thanks for the warning!
Yep! Crazy!!
