Professional Portrait Experiences/Reviews

I'm planning on taking DS for his first professional photos to give as Christmas gifts.  I'm not sure where to go, it's between Kiddie Kandids (@BRU), The Picture People, or Sears. 

 Have any of you used one of these photographers?  Any reviews/experiences?

I don't use Kiddie Kandids because, at least at our BRU, you can't make an appointment.  You just have to show up and take your chances... not something I'm willing to do with a toddler, or now with #2.  I've always gone to JC Penney's and have had great experience.

With any studio like that (Sears, penney's, etc.) I would suggest making the very first appointment of the day so you can be sure they're running on time.

I had a great experience at Sears, we had his 8 week pics done there.  But, I think it totally depends on the individual photographers they have working at your local store, it might be a crapshoot!  Good luck.

I'm sure every place is different depending on the staff, but I really disliked Sears. ?I went to get newborn photos done and I HATED the photographer, she would literally take one picture and be like, ok do you want to move him into another pose? ?I'm like lady, he's being cute...snap away! ?She told me that she had to take at least 12 different pictures in 12 different poses otherwise the session didn't count. ?WTF?? ?He is a freakin' newborn, not a circus monkey....by the time we were done, DS was bawling and inconsolable from having been moved around so much.

Plus, when we were done...this lady put so much pressure on us to buy the platinum package or whatever, we ended up spending over $300 on the package just to get them to shut up...
