Am I expecting too much from my RE?

I sent her an email today asking questions about DH's SA.  I specifically just asked about the debris and round cells found.  I also asked if IUI (which was previously suggested by her) would help greatly because of the wash.  Here was her response:

"Concentration is low, but total count is normal. Motility is low. Morphology is normal The statement-- "The results obtained may be inaccurate due to the presence of cell clumps or debris in the counting chamber." is a standard disclaimer put on all semen analysis reports. The amount of debris and round cells is not unusual, as no comment was made. The round cells were less than the amount that would be a concern. IUI may help, or IVF."

Am I expecting to much out of my RE to have a little more of a response to the IUI besides it "may help"?  And why is she mentioning IVF now when we have never discussed it?!

Sorry this was so long, I just feel so lost with the RE's I'm dealing with and I can't find my way out.  TIA!!

I always think its hard to tell people's tone and such in emails.  I would definitely want to have an appt or at least a phone call to discuss your concerns.

You are both right.  It is hard to know tone through email.  I think I'm just so sensitive right now that I am over thinking everything.  Thanks ladies!

We are dealing with MFI - low motility.  RE says the count is good though.  (So it sounds similar to yours)  He suggested IUI, but said we won't know if it's possible until we do a wash - to make sure the numbers are high enough.  Maybe that's what your RE is thinking too?  We are going to schedule an IUI, but also knowing that if the numbers are too low they won't do it, therefore needing IVF.

I agree with the pp that just set up an appt either phone or in person and go over it. Remember this is your life and future, and if you don't understand or something is not made clear to you, ask!!!!!!

I think this is typical email response from an RE.  They're not as personable in email, and I'm sure they want to be realistic without being too negative or positive.  If I was an RE and trying to be as straight forward and quick in my email responses, this is how I'd probably come across.  Try not to read too much into it, as you said...it's so hard to convey tone.
