2 yr old birthday party ideas

Hi!  I am looking for a fun place to host DD's second birthday.  I would prefer it to be in Howard County but am open to other places as well.

I am no keen on Gymboree and MyGym... Any advice?

  • we went here to get swings for the playset my husband built...not realizing they do parties and have play grounds set up indoors for play! It's pretty cool: http://playnlearn.com/locations/maryland/columbia-md/

My niece had her 3rd birthday party there... and we have another 3rd birthday party there at the end of the month. However, I will say that it may be a better place for that age and older. DS is 2 next month and when we went, he definitely needed constant supervision and some of the playsets seemed a little too "old" for him. But, he did have a lot of fun with the basketballs Big Smile

I'm no help... we're doing Rolly Pollies... but some of my nieces/nephews rented pavillons at local parks and those were really fun, but would depend on when and the weather.

  • Honestly, for a two year old I would just do something at home. I think other than Gymboree there really isn't much that works great for that age. 2 is still pretty young.

We are doing this-and i think it's perfect-we are opting to buy food instead of cook (except apps and desserts) to reduce stress...and honeslty cleaning will be minimal since we have to clean more after the party.

  • You can do a party at the Columbia association facilities, but honestly for a 2 yo party, at home and fewer people is better.  Your LO will never know the difference and as long as there's cake and a friend or two, you are golden.

When you have them out at places its alot of work for the other parents.  I'm happiest when my DD can just play somewhere and I don't have to assist (my DD) the whole time.
