I have to go to the dentist today and just realized that DH's HR manager (we're all on his plan) screwed up and enrolled us in the PPO plan instead of the HMO plan. Now instead of everything I need done today covered 100%, it's covered at 80%. I should be able to call her up and make her change it even though it's not open enrollment right? She also spelled my name wrong. DH is a city employee so I understand that she has tens of thousands of employees to keep up with, but really? She's not entering this sh!it by hand all by herself is she?! Would you make a fuss and try to get her to change the coverage (and my name) or just go with he PPO for now and change it during open enrollment?

Re: S/O of Penny's Eye Doc Post Below. WWYD?
All of this! I really hate everything to do with insurance sometimes. What a mess for you! Hope it gets figured out soon...
Yep, since the first of the year and since the is the first time any of us have needed to go to the dentist I haven't really looked at the paperwork before now. I'm going to try to call her in a bit here. Fingers crossed!
I would see if it can be corrected especially since it was her mistake. There may be nothing she can do now but at least check into it.
I found out this weekend that DH never signed up to make contributions to his HSA account. Our University matches $1000. We have a $3000 deductible off the bat before anything is covered and a ton of medical bills coming in. Luckily it looks like it can be fixed but we have already paid out $2K in out of pocket.
