I drive a 2011 Ford Focus SE and lets just say it is not really car seat friendly. Both of teh front seats have to be pulled up as well as the backs of the seats. It is not very comfortable for me. Getting the travel system seat in and out of the car is a nightmare all it's own. I nearly broke my are getting LO out a few weeks ago. She is getting ready to outgrown her carrier and I need to find a convertible seat that is compact car friendly and under $150. I am looking at Safety 1st or Graco brands. Can you recommend one?
Re: Convertible Carseat Recommendation
At under $100, I would look at the Safety 1st Guide 65 and Evenflo Sureride.
Between $100-$150, I would look at the Graco MyRide or the Graco MySize/Headwise/Size4Me seats. They can usually be found around $150 on sale. Just know that there have been numerous cases of issues with the straps not tightening tight enough or being too tight on one side and not tight enough on the other. There are a lot of people that don't have those issues as well, so it seems hit or miss.
I know Target has the Classic Britax Marathon on sale this week for $170 as well. It is super easy to use and fairly tall. My 2.5 year old should make it rear-facing til 3 in it and then to 5 or so forward facing.
I also urge you to join Car Seats for the Littles on facebook. I am a car seat tech on that page.
