I am new to this board. I had my first IUI on this past Sunday. I know that there was the potential for spotting but it was much more than spotting. Called the doctors on Tuesday and they had me back in the office on Wednesday. I had an ultrasound done and was told that I did not look that I ovulated though I had a positive OPK on Saturday. Doctor sent me for blood work, nurse called me back and stated that the bleeding was most likely hormonal and it would stop. It?s kind of like I started my period SUPER early. So they put me on progesterone for 10 days. Once I start my period on cd3 I start 50mg of clomid until cd7. On cd10 I will go back for an ultrasound. I was told that from there i would go for daily blood work to test for my LH surge.
Today is day 3 of the progesterone the bleeding hasn?t yet stopped but has slowed a lot. I do notice that it makes me very dizzy for about an hour after I take the pill then I feel fine.
I just wanted to be able to share my story. And also ask I have heard a lot about people using a trigger shot. It?s my understanding that it?s to make you ovulate? And would it be to forward for me to ask my doctor for the trigger shot instead of just waiting for the surge?
Thanks for taking your time to read

New Plan: Reciprocal IVF, me as carrier wife's eggs. Just went through insurance and received partial approval, so my part will go through my IVF benefits and wife's part will be out of pocket. Now just finalizing finance plans to cover the oop costs. Doctors office is in process of moving to a new building so there are no IVF start ups until March/April 2015.
Re: new to board
I think that based on what happened this last cycle, That yes - I would ask them if I could have a trigger shot (and yes it does force ovulation 36 hours after the shot). The drug used most often for trigger is Ovidril.
Talk with your RE about on cd3. And if they have to do that, you should not have to come in every single day for blood work. If you are going in on cd10 for an ultrasound to see how your follicles are growing from the follicle, that should be perfect timing to see how you are doing and take blood work. Then, depending on size, they can have you just monitored every two or three days.
As for the dizzy spells from progesterone supps - yep. I get those.

I have learnt my lesson an ordered some OPK.
But ofcours no need to use OPK once you get your HCG shot.
sorry for any spelling errors im posting this from phone.
Thank you, I do have a few left over from this month. Ill double check with the RE about what we should do. But if the trigger shot will turn it anyways maybe that would be a bit confusing.
