Diaper Issue ?

DS's penis and the area around gets red. I have been putting a&d ointment on it and it get better if I change his diaper every 2-3 hours. We have been using pampers swaddlers since he was born and for about a week and used a pack of luvs just before that. He now sleeps through the night so I do not change his diaper. Any advice as to how to battle the redness? Should I change to a different brand diapers? If so, which one? Anyone notice a different in absorbancy between swaddlers, baby dry, cruisers?
