I cannot explain his reasons but he absolutely loves the name Cordelia for a little girl. It's not a horrible name just not my style. He is so stuck on it that he has been shooting down all of my suggestions. Anyways just needed to rant

I'm partial to it only because it was my great aunt's name AND my sister just named her DD this. Their plan is to call her Delia (as that is what we called my aunt too), but she's only a week and a half old so we're still calling her Cordelia. It's kind of a lot for a little girl, but we're getting used to it and I'm sure we'll switch over to Delia soon. (I think Cori/Corey is a cute nn to go with it too.)
I love Cordelia. I wish I could get my husband on board. He vetoed it because he thinks it sounds "too masculine" which is so weird to me. And when I suggested it with the nickname Cora, which I also love, he said that was the name of the witch on Once Upon A Time and was a no go.
Re: Oh my dh
I agree with all of this. We are usually in the opposite situation where I love a name and he won't budge.

I'm with your husband. I think it is different, but still "a name".
It's got great nicknames, Dee-dee, Delia, Cordy. (My parents have a friend who goes by Cordie.)
Also, it's the good, loving daughter from King Lear.
I think of all that way before I think of Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
