But, what the heck, I don't think I was out of line!

OK, so I posted about how she tells me every time I see her that everytime she does not see DD she cries. she sees DD at least once a week. Well, today DHs cousin was visiting from NYC. She told her "Oh, I cry everyday cause I don't see this little one!" So it totally made it sound like we are depriving her of her grandaughter or something. So I made sure I butted in and said "You are seeing her three times this week!" She got real quiet. But, I am sick of her always saying this!!

Second was when DD was playing on her playmat. She loves her FP Rainforest mat. Well, MIL asks if I want her to buy DD a Baby Einstein mat cause it has moving parts and she will like it better. I said NO, she loves this one and we have no room for another mat. I could tell I hurt her feelings, but I am just trying to save her some $!

She will get over it. My MIL is like that. I usually grin and bare it. But, lately I have been making little remarks and hoping she gets the hint. Just be honest with her.

She was out of line, and sounds passive aggressive and whiney.  My parents get to see DD maybe once a month at most, she should be all kinds of grateful to see your baby as much as she does!
