Well we had our follow up consult today....not only do we have MFI but I apparently have a lower egg reserve than he thought he'd see in my bloodwork. So not only did he basically say we need ivf, but we need it pronto...
I managed to pretend to be a champ and I didn't cry or anything.
So we are feeling pressured to decide and potentially find thousands of dollars quickly...
Forget a glass of wine tonight I think I'll just drink from the bottle

Because of my low egg reserve he said we couldn't wait too long...thanks for the support... my friends understand so little I'm sometimes surprised they are women

I'm so sorry for the bad news from the consult. Did he give you your baseline hormonal levels and AFC for the DOR dx? If not, request them to see where you are at...and if it's not as dire as he made it seem - have you thought about getting a second opinion? Look into if there are any clinical trials in your area (website clinicaltrials.gov) to see if you can cycle for free for science! Just throwing ideas out there.
But if it turns out to be a accurate Dx and treatment plan...there are many options and ways to help afford IVF aside from clinical trials. Borrow from 401Ks interest free, IF loans from if-centric companies, bank loans, no interest credit cards, HSAs, or combining several of these.
Take tonight to be mad at the world, and drink that bottle. Then tomorrow start looking for a plan. (((HUGS)))
Thanks ladies, honestly talking with you guys makes me feel so much better, he did not give me exact numbers...it's odd I didn't think to ask, probably bc I was blindsided. I will definitely email him.
Also I'm absolutely going to look into all of your suggestions!
And I need one of those wine glasses, mine are giant but that one puts them to shame haha
It's weird...it's devastating but I feel relieved to have answers

I am so terribly sorry to hear about your news. Drink a bottle of wine (or two) and take a nice bubble bath - or whatever it is you like to unwind. Then, in the morning, I might consider thinking of a second opinion as PP have said.
