1st OB Appointment BW

Do they redraw all of the bloodwork when I'm released to the OB or will they request it from my REs office?  I mean like HIV, blood type, STD...all of the testing we've recently completed.  I'm just worried my insurance won't pick it up since it's been less than 3 months since my last testing.  Just curious.

Same here and I thought it was so wierd.. I did ask the nurse and she assured me that the insurance would cover it because they are the ones that require it for them.. they cannot accept my records for those things from the RE??

My last testing with the RE was before my IUI 8wks ago. Yea that was annoying.

I am kind of glad you posted this because I was so taken aback by it same as you. Glad I was not alone.

I guess it depends on your OB; mine accepted all of my bloodwork from my RE's office. I had my BW done in Jan 2012 and saw my OB in Nov 2012 and it was fine. Hopefully if you can't do that, your insurance will cover it!

My OB redid mine.  I had most of the testing done in October, it was redone in January.  I was a little annoyed, but my OB said they want the b/w to be done once you're pregnant.  Oh well, I have a HDHP, and I've already hit my deductible, not even at the end of February, so I guess who cares.

this!!!!! I was also annoyed because my lab coverage is awful and that's not a cheap bill. They also re-did it towards the end of my pregnancy, apparently they want a round done later in the game to make sure nothing has developed. I was caught off guard by this!

My OB didn't redo any of the stuff you mentioned. She did redo some stuff like CBC but those change.

Thanks for the responses ladies!  I guess we'll see.  What's another couple hundred bucks at this point.
