Trouble TTC

Fun times (insert sarcasm)

Was very excited to start first round of clomid, since my dr is so positive that its going to work. Well, I didn't CD1 on time (hey! maybe I am ku! highly doubt that) so now, the "sex days" will fall exactly when mh will be out of town for work (the same exact 10 days that I am supposed to be having sex eod).

So, thankfully reading this site, I realize that you can't do more than a few rounds of clomid, so I am going to call the doc and let them know I will skip this cycle. Otherwise I might have started it thinking it would cumulatively help with the next month. So thank you ladies for that information.

Somewhat related, I have a dumb question: do your REs recommend an HSG if you have been pregnant before?

  • If it's been two years since past pregnancy or you've never had an HSG, yes they still recomend it. Have you not had that done yet? You might have one tube clear and one slightly or compleatly blocked...this would at least tell them not to go forward on cycles when you only have follie on blocked side. Or if only a little blocked the dye would help clear the tube.

  • Oh thanks! That is actually really helpful advice. I'll bring it up with my doc - for some reason they have done every other test, but not that one...not sure why. Might as well do it while DH is OOT.

  • I have had one before when trying for 1. My re had me repeat all tests including the hsg even though I had had one done before. I'm glad I had it repeated as one of my tubes took a while for the dye to spill out so maybe it was partially blocked or something. They also say there is a slightly higher chance of getting pg the cycle after but it hasn't happened to me either time. Gl!
