PG>35 Weekly Check-In: Stages of Pregnancy Edition

[Mobile: PG>35 Weekly Check-In: Stages of Pregnancy Edition]

Happy Monday to everyone! It is a beautiful sunny day here in the Midwest and it feels more like spring than February. It is hard to believe that it will be raining buckets at this time tomorrow.

I saw a very funny link on my BMB that I wanted to share here about the stages of pregnancy: https://www.pregnantchicken.com/pregnant-chicken-blog/2010/5/31/stages-of-pregnancy.html This seems especially apropos right now because the cute phase of my pregnancy? IS SO OVER. I have been spared many of the typical complaints (and I am grateful for that, honest!), but I have hit the tipping point and now feel like a beached whale. I have had to move the seat in my car back, TWICE. I have to be careful how I park in the garage so I can still actually get out of my car. Any drive over 20 minutes seems arduous. Several pairs of my maternity pants no longer fit. Personal hygiene is becoming a daring adventure in contortionism. Everything takes three times as long to do as it did before. (Good prep for a baby, when everything will take ten times as long as it did before.) I no longer schedule appointments before 11:30 AM because it takes me so damn long to get my typical morning routine done. I am starting to understand the appeal of the muumuu. And so on... But before I get too whiny, let's get this check-in started!

On a scale of 1 to 10, where 10 is ?Ecstatic, giggly pregnant bliss? and 1 is ?I?m going to go postal if I have to be pregnant for five more minutes!?, where are you on the Scale of Pregnant Happiness?

    QOTW: I'm definitely stage 4.

Updates: Tomorrow morning, I have another U/S as part of my monthly monitoring because of my 2-vessel umbilical cord. I'm really feeling good now (wasn't much more nervous these last two weeks up until about yesterday) because I've been feeling much more kicking and activity which is reassuring. I'll feel heaps better once I see that the baby is growing on schedule.

Other than that-- I'm REALLY looking forward to getting things set up for the baby. My shower will be April 20th, I think. That should help, but I want to have the rooms upstairs all finished so we can move things into place and get organized. Then, I think I'll have a harder time waiting for this baby to arrive. I really want to meet him/her. I've been trying to do the whole "enjoy the whole journey" thing, but I'm not a patient person and I really want to meet this person and be done trying to work while trying not to pee or fall asleep standing up.

MH has been awesome about taking care of the house and helping with pretty much everything (except for his rare moments when I have to throw wet clothes at him).

QOTW: I think I'm holding steady at stage 4 for now, and I can be anywhere between a 1 and 10 on the bliss stage depending on the minute of the day, talk about mood swings!!!

Updates: Regular OB appt today, I start weekly NTS scans starting next week, a little freaked out but my OB said she just wants to make sure everything continues to go as well as it has and it's her standard protocal for 40+ mommas. My bp was on the high side again today, that damn auto BP monitor, she just took blood again but no urine testing, since Ive been getting only normal readings at home she's not super concerned my 24 urine test came back very very good last time.

Other than that, I have a million things to still get to and I feel like times flying, 9 more weeks!!!!

     Good luck tomorrow danielandwayne!

QOTW:  Thats funny and I'm at stage 4.  I think I skipped 3 though, I never really felt all that cute.  I'm happy to be pregnant but I'm ready to get my body back to myself and feel normal again.  This 9 months stuff is for the birds.  I didn't know what to expect but hoped I would be blissfully pregnant haha.

Updates:  I finally got relief in my back and can walk almost pain free again.  I do have this super low pain all the time though now, maybe its rlp.  I also had my first growth u/s today.  Baby is doing good and weights about 4lb 4oz.  Seems big but right at average.  Only problem was she is breech.   So now I'm stressing about that.  I know its plenty of time to flip but I am still nervous she won't.  I'm going to start the spinning babies exercies.  Next u/s is in 3 weeks so I'm hoping she is flipped by then.

Other update is my shower was this weekend.  It was really great and I got so much good stuff.  Lots of cute clothes too.  So now we have a nursery full of stuff and its surreal and exciting but makes me so nervous at the same time.  I will be so happy when she is with us at the end of this.

QOTW:  I'm still Stage 2.  I wish I were stage 3.  We had a get-together last night and one of my sweetest friends said "you're not showing at all...but your boobs are huge!!!"  :(  Sigh.  I know I'm starting to show because I can finally feel my belly sticking out when I'm standing up.  Until this week, it's been only when I'm lying down.  I'm sure I'll be yearning for this time when I get larger, but I'd really rather just look pregnant at this point.  On the scale, I'm probably a 3.  Not a good sign. I've never been one to want to experience pregnancy, and all the aches and pains and constipation and bloating really is making me miserable.  Also, the thought of birth and what it's going to do to my vag is scaring the cr@p out of me.

Update:  I can feel Perry (that's what we call him Perry, originally started as perry the parasite, but we may actually go with a name that is close to this) moving a lot this week. I had one episode of brown spotting last week, but nothing since.  Hope it was just some random cervical irritation.  I also finally bought something for him.  A story book for boys and a toy hippo.  I plan to start reading to him nightly.

QOTW:  Stage 2, but mostly because of the looking fat rather than pregnant part :)  I'd say I'm at about a 5-6.  Less happy than I thought I'd be... I mean, I'm very happy to be pregnant, I just have been feeling a little down lately...

Update:  Had my NT scan last Thursday and from the scan itself, everything looked good and all the measurements were within the normal range.  Now we just wait for the blood test to come back.  Baby's heartbeat was 153.  The u/s tech said gender was a little too close to call but she's leaning towards it being a girl. So, I'm going back in a little under 2 weeks for an elective 3d u/s to find out the gender for sure!

I feel mostly good but have been dealing with some insomnia and my left boob is killing me today.  Plus I just started having painful twinges on my right side... ouch!  It may be time to try a bath to see if that relieves the aches and helps me sleep.

And, DH and I may have finally agreed on a girl's name!!  Woot woot!!

I would say I am about a 3 right now.  I had to go out and get a belly sling this past weekend because I was feeling too much pain (round ligament pain, apparently, and not a hernia) when I was walking.  I also had to retire 2 of my under-belly maternity pants (my weekend pants, for the past 3 months) because they are uncomfortable now.  I went out in flowy yoga pants 2 sizes too big this past weekend because I just didn't care and wanted to be comfy.  I wish it was a bit wearmer and I could throw on dresses.  And I am so hot all of the time - I am sweating like a pig right now and have a fan blowing on my face.  Blech!

I just keep telling myself that I have no more than about a month left, I can do it.

Son #1 is already 2! Not too much longer until Son No.2 arrives! Lilypie Maternity tickers

     Good morning ladies

QOTW: I think I am at stage 2 now.  I am 16 weeks not and although I have not gained any weight yet I can see my weight shift around a bit.  I have been off of work the last few days and yesterday i walked around the house all day with a longer fleece on and my pants unbuttoned.... much more comfy.  I keep trying to remember when I started to show with my daughter but I wish it would be sometime soon.  One day I have a small belly and the next day it is gone.  Must be bloat.

Updates: Not much for me this week.  i have not checked in for a while but we heard the heartbeat at week 13 and it was 160 hmmmmmm could it be another girl? I do have an appointment a week from today and I wish it would just get here. I want to heard that beautiful sound again.  Vent I know that i live in wisconsin but I am getting tired of the snow and the cold. I am clumsy enough as it is I dont need the ice and snow making it harder for me to stand up. Big Smile

I hope everyone here has a great day

    QOTW:
I am currently between a 4 and a 5. I had a really rough weekend and yesterday was meltdown central. Between my belly feeling hard as a rock, like I'm being squeezed in a death grip by king kong, lightening crotch, the inability to sit/stand/sleep in any comfortable position, pregnancy insomnia, zero patience/extreme irritability, being unable to breath and turning into the klutz from hell- my jaw decided to pop out during breakfast on Sunday. Thanks Relaxin- what an awesomely unexpected pregnancy side effect. So, now my bite is off and my jaw is extremely sore. So, long story short, on the 1-10 scale, I'm definitely a 1 this week and my bad attitude has run away without me.

    Updates:
Doc appt this Friday, Strep B test on the 11th- fun! Fun! I also start my weeklies on the 11th. We're in the home stretch! My mom is flying in this Friday, she's moving in with us for while and my shower is Saturday. So, lots of change happening in a very short period of time. Very much looking forward to Nate finally being here and all the support we'll have in getting adjusted- silver linings! ;)

Hi I'm new to this board and would like to be included on the check in. Stepharonius Stephanie EDD-10/10/13 Too early for gender I am still very early into my pregnancy so trying to be cautiously optimistic. I was 7 weeks on Monday and we have seen a heartbeat since 5 wks 4 days. At 6 weeks they measured a heartrate of 166 but Monday the doppler could only pick up static. I am not having too many pregnancy symptoms at this stage-just sleeping like I'm in a coma and getting tired early at night. Today though I have noticed how I never seem to feel "relieved" after I pee! It is so annoying because I know there is nothing else in my bladder but it feels like I still need to go! I hope my husband can be patient on our 3 hour road trip we are taking this weekend because as it is right now I am going 3-5 times per hour!!!

QOTW:  I am between stages 2-3.  I feel pretty good and have been getting some more energy than I had previously, although having more trouble sleeping now.  But still don't have a cute bump really.  Think I just look overweight.  Boo, hope I pop soon, course I'm sure once I do I'll be complaining about being big!  :)

Updates/Vents:  Have a regular appointment on Thursday.  Think I wait for my GTT until the next appointment (I'm going every 3 weeks, so about 27 weeks).  We ordered our nursery furniture last weekend, so excited to get a room setup - although we have a lot of work to do to clear it out!

Thanks for sharing that I needed a laugh today. I think I'm between Stages 2 and 3. Feeling better, but I still just look fat, not really cute belly yet! Pretty happy though, probably a 6.5 or so.

Updates and vents: need to go get the blood draw for quad screen tomorrow and next MW appt. is not until next Thursday. Had to take my belly button ring out. Didn't really think about what would happen to that when I got it like 18 years ago. Yeah, it's kind of weird and the hole looks huge! Oh well. Hopefully it will be flat and cute again someday, but I won't hold my breath.

As for an update...I am sick as a dog...I was just diagnosed with an acute throat infection, so I have been put on a Z-Pack, told to rest and take some Dayquil and Robitussin for the coughing...easier said then done...my voice is gone from the coughing, my ears hurt, and every time I cough, I have pain(minor) and there is the possibility I may pee a little. How embarrassing..

UPDATES: I got my results back from the Harmony (another name for MaterniT21 test) test I took. Good news all around there. And although I know it's no guarantee, it certainly has alleviated some of my initial worries.

QOTW: Oh I'm a 10. I'm at the beginning of the second trimester so I've been feeling pretty great all around. I got some good news from some test results, I'm just starting to slightly show, I'm a first time mom...I'm definitely a 10! I am so excited and I feel great right now so I'm trying to just relax and enjoy the ride right now before things start getting crazy and I start to feel like poop again.

We are relocating to Puerto Vallarta (Mexico) in mid-June, when I am 34w, and I am so ready to just get down there already!

I am definitely stage 2. Fat, but no bump. I wasn't really expecting to see a bump, as my abdominal muscles never separated with my first pregnancy. I have pics of me at 39w and I don't look pregnant at all. Fat -- yes, pregnant -- no! My midwife said that I had the strongest abs she had ever seen, which I found ironic since I gained over 75 lbs. with my first! I feel very good overall, but keep getting 24-hour+ long migraines. Going to see my midwife today about starting Imitrex as needed. Tylenol and caffeine just aren't cutting it. Otherwise, all is good!

I'd like to be added  :)

    your screen name:  kestock120

    first name (optional): Kelly

    due date:  8/30/13

sex of baby: It's a boy!

QOTW: Which stage of pregnancy (as described in the article) would you say you are in now? Are you about where you expected to be at this point? On a scale of 1 to 10, where 10 is ?Ecstatic, giggly pregnant bliss? and 1 is ?I?m going to go postal if I have to be pregnant for five more minutes!?, where are you on the Scale of Pregnant Happiness?  I'd say I'm at stage 2 right now.  I just feel fat and tired.

Share your updates and vents: I was happy to find out last week that we're having another baby boy, but I'm sad for DH that he's not getting his little girl.  I'm also bummed that I haven't been able to tell my parents that I'm pregnant and that they won't know until I am 19 weeks.

I'm sorry.  I don't think I've been by in awhile.

QOTW:  I am definitely at Stage 4, but I think I am still a 6 most days on the pregnancy bliss scale.  I'm trying to be happy and grateful every day, even when my feet swell and my hip hurts.

Updates:  I'm on to every two week appointments.  I go tomorrow and will have a repeat of the 1 hr GTT.  I don't go back to MFM until the end of March.

We had a shower in my home town on the 17th and it was wonderful.  Everyone was very generous and we are so thankful for the many people who came from far away and the gifts we received.

Next month will be busy with child birth and breastfeeding classes, maternity photos and my shower here.

    Funny article!

QOTW:  I'd say I'm probably a Stage 2.  I can tell in my waist, but I'm sure no one else can yet since my pants still fit.  I was lucky last time because I never really hit the completely miserable stage.  Definitely got to the point where I'd get out of breath much quicker after 30 weeks or so when baby was up against my lungs.  But no swelling or inability to tie my own shoes, take showers, etc.   Hoping I'm as lucky this time around!

What an entertaining blog post, thanks for sharing! I totally identify with the author on the stages I've gone through. So right on.

QOTW:  I'm in Stage 3 but I don't feel great. I'm definitely showing and LOVE my pregnant body. I always show off this bump with form fitting clothes. However, I've had a very challenging pregnancy with many complications, illness, etc. I was just in the hospital a few days ago for IV fluids. Nevertheless, I'm grateful to be pregnant and LO is healthy and thriving, so on the bliss scale I'd say I'm a 6 or 7 out of 10.

Updates:  My belly is feeling sensitive lately, I don't know if it's a growth spurt or the stomach bug I'm getting over, but it feels stretched to the max. I don't have much of an appetite.... totally odd for me, even in first tri I was hungry all the time and gained 5 lbs! Good news to share this week is that my OB recommended I reduce my work schedule due to pregnancy complications and it was approved through FMLA - woot woot! I have 12 weeks of "parental bonding" time for maternity leave so FMLA won't eat into that. What a relief that I can care for myself a little better and not worry about my job!

QOTW: stage 5+. Especially "You're no longer scared of birth you just want this kid out of you and if that means pulling it through your right nostril, so be it."

Updates: weekly NSTs and U/S are good. Past due and having early/false labor but not the real deal yet. Get this baby out of me!

Hi, I'd like to be added to the list : ) Screen name: Lilmrslay

    First Name: Rachael

     Due Date: 9th August

Gender: Unknown (find out in 2 weeks)

QOTW: I am Stage 2. Feel like I have quite a big bump but it's probably more fat and bloat than bump. In saying that, I'm only 5 foot so don't have a lot of room to 'store' a baby in a short torso.

Update: Midwife appt next week and I can't wait. Just want to hear my LO's heartbeat again and feel reassured (for another 5 minutes).

On the scale, I'm around a 7. Love being pregnant and have been pretty lucky,  but I am totally sick of the nose congestion and constant snotty-ness. Only other  that, my only other frustration is sleep, or lack of for peeing and adjusting.
