I feel its time to retire our infantino mei tai. He's trying to turn around and see the world and can't really do that in that mei tai. So.....I'm think either the maya ring sling or baby k'tan. I like the changeability of both but ann leaning towards the ring sling because I don't have to deal with size and can gift it to someone else. Something I can't do with the k'tan because no one I know closely is my size. I'm the big girl of the group.
You do y'all think?

K'tan is stretchy, so I wouldn't buy it for an older baby. Have you tried a back carry or high back carry in the mei tai? He'll be able to see more.If not that, then a ring sling is great for hip carries with an older baby.nbsp;
Would you need another person for a back carrier?

I did it by myself. Practise over a bed, watch some youtube videos in advance. You might want a spotter the first time or two, but it can be done on your own after that. Back carries are AMAZING for getting things done.
I don't have much experience with ring slings b/c I didn't prefer them, I have used my Moby/Ergo mostly... but I did NOT like the K'tan. Too hard to size, not really adjustable and stretchy. (the moby is also stretchy, but not a "set size")

Definitely try a back carry in your mei tai! I agree you want to skip the k'tan; ring slings are great but a back carry in the mei tai will likely be more comfy.

the k'tan is great but we stopped using it at 4 months, dont buy it for a 6 month old.

I have a video here showing how I do it - it's with a younger baby here but the idea is the same https://www.becomingmamas.com/wearing-a-newborn-in-a-mei-tai-high-back-carries/
