if it's a cousin, it's not a big deal. The nickname for Genevieve is "Jenny" or "Eve" mostly (it was my great-grandmothers name and everyone called her Jenny) ..

Cousins with similar names don't bother me, either. Actually, my cousin (who was born on the same day as me, 13 years later) and I have the same name. We're both Catherine (me)/Katherine (cousin) -- but she goes by Katie.
Re: Cousins with similar names?
Agreed.
::comes out from lurking::
No. Not too similar.
Now, I wanted to name a DD Emily but my sister named her DD Emma Leigh... THAT is too similar.
I don't think it's a big deal. My name is Diana and my aunt named her daughter Diana ... We are about 8 years apart.
They are similar in the fact that they are both French in origin, but otherwise, I don't find them similar at all.
If you'd said Kaitlyn and Kaylee or something like that, that would be similar.
This. But at least you would still have the formal names to use when they're around one another etc.
