I love the name, and it has family significance because it was my mother's maiden name. DH is dragging his feet because he doesn't like Andy as a NN, but would be good with AJ, so I'm thinking possibly Jordan for a MN. Last name is Reed.

I love Anderson but hate AJ and Andy. If you are going to do a NN, there is always Anders as well

This is a family name for us, too. (It's been a MN for 5 generations, but we'd make it a FN bc we dislike the existing FN tradition.)  But I go back and forth on it, I guess because of the style.  I love LNs as FNs, but I've always felt silly about -son names, which are so obviously LNs, being FNs. I also worry about boxing ourselves in re: future sibset names.  And I wonder how others perceive it - do they think "classic family name" or do they think "trend like Madison and Jackson?"  I worry about its increasing popularity - that people are randomly using it like Jackson and soon it'll be everywhere and won't carry any meaning.  Yes, I've been thinking about this a bunch lol.

We love the nn Andy.  I like AJ, too - I have positive memories associated with it.

I love the name Anderson! Not a huge fan of Jordan for a nm though, just not my style.  I would suggest something like, James, Jacob, Jackson...

James is out for a mn, because it was my maternal grandfather's name, James Anderson, so naming a son Anderson James is just too close. I do like Jacob though.

I like it!  I like Andy, Sonny (as a pp mentioned), or AJ for the nickname.  But I don't love the way AndersON JordAN flows.  Anderson Joseph or Anderson Jeremy both sound better to me.

I know 2 little boys named Anderson.  One is named for his mother's maiden name and they call him Anderson only (he is Anderson John).  The other one is AJ for short (Anderson Joseph).

I really like the name Anderson, and the silver fox Anderson Cooper! PP mentioned Anderson Jack which I thought sounded good.

I'm not a fan of last names as first names.  But I think it would make a nice MN.  As for Anderson Jordan.  Too many n's.  I'm having this same problem.  DS will be Nathan, and there are so many other -n ending names that I like!

I agree that Anderson Jordan is too much in that the names kind of rhyme. Not a fan of AJ as a nn either. But I like the PP's suggestion of Anders for a nn.

Oh, and I should mention that I really like Anderson for a fn. I also like the family significance.
