SPLURGE!

Ok, already-parent-gals - I have a question for you!  If you were going to splurge on ONE baby item (car seat, high chair, baby monitor, etc) - which one do you think you should spare NO expense and get THE best?  And do you have a recommendation as to what that item/company is?

My big thing for next LO will be getting a nice convertible carseat, probably a Britax. I got a Graco Snugride from EX's grandparents for DD and it was nice, but it would be better to not have to upgrade the carseat as often due to outgrowing it.

I'd splurge on a nicer crib. One that transitions into a toddler bed. I don't think the one we have does. Which is fine, we bought a toddler bed. But it would have been nice to have that option with Tiny

A glider if you think you'll be doing a lot of rocking. Unfortunately you don't know in advance if you'll have a baby who needs to be rocked - with my first we were sitting in that rocker at least 5 hours a day for the first few months because it was the only way to put her and keep her asleep. With my second we hardly used it. 

If you think you'll be walking a lot, a stroller is another good splurge.

Also splurge on a crib you love. I bought the Pottery Barn Kendall since it was very highly rated on Consumer Reports and I liked the look of it.
