Yesterday, we went to see Seinfeld stand-up. As we're filing out when it's over, my phone falls out of my pocket. Luckily, I noticed and bent down to get it, but it was treacherous, as there was a sea of people filing out behind us. Then, I notice the back of the phone fell off. It was a literal wall of people, so there was no way we were getting back in there to search the floor until every single person was gone. We went with BIL and SIL and SIL is pregnant. I knew she just wanted to leave, so I just said f it, we'll get a new one.
The phone is not insured. I assumed they would charge me out the butt for this piece of plastic that's probably worth half a cent. I went to the Tmobile store today, and the lady told me I couldn't get a replacement. So, I can buy a new phone for approximately $567,000 (possibly an exaggeration) or just live with the phone like it is. Blah. I know it was my dumb a** that dropped it and then abandoned all hope, but they can't find a way to let me buy a new back for the freaking thing??? If I knew how to post GIF's, I would post one of someone banging their head against a wall.
Anyone want to post here that the lady I talked to at Tmobile was wrong? Please?
Re: Frigging cell phone companies
Good ideas. I just had the thought that maybe I could just buy a case for the phone on ebay, right? And not even worry about the back?
When I did, all I found were cases, which gave me the idea to just buy a case. Plus, I can get one like this:
Or this
So, it's a win/win!
I used for work for a cell phone company. Not T-Mobile. We sold backs to phones all the time. The most they were was like $4.99. Did you go to store to find this out or call? T-Mobile is notorious for having horrid customer service in their stores. Mainly bc most stores are run by a franchise that is purchased from TMobile itself. So most of the reps work purely on commission. If you can find a Corporate store they should be able to sell you a piece to fit your phone. A franchise must advertise they are franchise, most times it will say:
T-Mobile
Mobile Solutions, Authorized Retailer, or something of the sort on the sign (if it?s a franchise). A corp store will simply say ?T-mobile?.
Also coming from someone who worked in cell phone industry. Please try and find a back to your phone even if you have a cover. It is incredibly bad for your phone not have a back. You will be letting in all sorts of debris and moisture even with a cover. Esp if you let your kids play with it. It will also most likely void your warranty so if anything happens to it, you are SOL on getting a replacement.
I did go to a store! This is just the input I was hoping for! Should I call or just try to find a corporate store?
Thanks!
There are so many other amazing options, though. Those two were just some of the first on the search list!
Going to a corp store has always been easiest for me! (also some companies also outsource their cust service, meaning you won't be talking to someone who actually works for t-mobile, but a call center franchise thing.
