Yesterday, I posted in the WFD about the homemade pasta dish I was planning on making. I went shopping for the ingredients in the morning and everything. Then, DS was super whiny and clingy all afternoon and would only nap in the living room in his RnP. I had to be completely quiet for like and hour and a half! Needless to say, we had beer, popcorn and scavenged the refrigerator for leftovers instead of having a real dinner.
I'm getting to meet my nephew for the first time next week 15 days younger than my LO and lives out of state and being the pushy CD'er that I am lol I am taking enough CD's to CD him as well as my LO all weekend...I'm hoping to win over my SIL! Lol
S doesn't have snow pants.
I thought the ones we had fit her, then I accidentally left them at my sisters til like 3 weeks ago. That was when I realized they didn't fit. But it didn't snow until today. DH let her wear them to school. They're so short. I'm horrible. And of course the stores don't have them anymore so I'm scouring the Internet for some at a decent price with fast shipping. Ug.
Do you have any outlet stores near you? After we weaned DS off the sleepsuit, I couldn't find fleece PJs to save my life. Then, last weekend, I found a whole bunch at the Carter's outlet for $3 each!
I've been feeling pretty drained all week, so this afternoon I decided to let DS have some "free play" time. Basically I threw a bunch of his toys on the floor in his nursery and put him down to roll around and explore while I sat in his rocking chair with a snack and did some online shopping.
Can I pretend like it's good for him to work on rolling and practicing to crawl on his own?

Not only is it good for him to work on his rolling and crawling, it's good for him to learn to amuse himself...helps with brain development and imagination lol good for you for finding a safe for him way to get some down time!
I made some coffee creamer to replace the cancer milk I drink but I hate it. I don't care if it is awful for me I'm going back to the processed stuff. Maybe I will cut back, maybe not.
I think I get so caught up with all these pins on Pinterest that have lists of things to do with your baby all day. I feel like we should be learning and doing all day long! Clearly I'm still a rookie

Oh my goodness, this is TOTALLY something I would do! I've even thought about offering to babysit for a friend of mine just so I can get her daughter in some cloth. I think I have a sickness.

It is good for him to have time to himself.
DD spends a large chunk of her day on the floor playing with her toys. She also has great motor skills and can pay attention for surprising amounts of time.
Kids need to play by themselves to gain the ability to think for themselves.
She still has time where we are interacting with her, reading books, playing, cuddling, but I would say she gets several hours (in increments - over the course of the day) where she entertains herself.
I haven't done anything for the past four days besides a few loads of laundry, play with my kid, bump, and watch the Dog Whisperer. Oh, except for that one night I made a crockpot dinner that took all of three minutes.
Today I had the grandest intentions of getting things done, but I just finally got my long awaited co op fabric and so today I'm probably going to do a whole lot more of nothing, except it will involve rolling around in bamboo velour, and possibly making a new fitted.
Oh, and not so much a confession as it is a brag, but A just strung together her first ASL sentence. She asked for "More water please" and I'm pretty much just melting with pride.
Suddenly my life doesn't seem such a waste,
It all revolves around you.
I have been doing ASL since I was 9 b/c we moved and one of my classmates was deaf. We are still friends after all these years. With DS I started at 6 mos. but he didn't sign "more" "milk" and "eat" until closer to 8 or 9 mos. I didn't keep up with it but wish I had. I hope you are able to do it with the new one MK!

Omg. I wanted to do SL w L but DH shot me down. It was one of the many things he told me was a dumb idea until someone else told him about it, and then he's all "hey we should do this." Makes me want to stab him.
Anyway. I know it would help tons with her frustration when she can't form the right words or sounds. Is it hard? How did you start? And when.... I'm considering it for the next LO.
We started when A was a newborn, but that was mainly because I wanted to get in the habit of doing it myself. She started learning words (reacting to them) around 6 months, I think? I think she started signing back at around 10, but I'm not really positive. She knows a lot of signs now, and it really does help with her frustration. She gets visibly excited when she signs for something and we respond immediately. She knows a LOT of words, too. She signs hungry, eat, water, (her own made up sign for) nurse, again, more, diaper, poop, help, tired, music, please, thank you, all done, bath (which, omg she asks for constantly haha), down, up, daddy, mommy. There's a few more, but I'm blanking.. It's not too late to start with L, you just have to be aware and consistent.
I'm actually planning on taking some ASL classes at my local college, because I plan on continuing with it even after I'm done with babies.
I am enjoying the Babywise drama on the board this evening...I am spending too much time cooped up!
Haha I know! I was just reading it thinking finally! Some drama. I do feel bad for her LO tho
I know right...that poor babe sitting in a sopping diaper! I feel bad enough if I forget to check my LO frequently when he's cluster feeding, I can't imagine putting it off that long on purpose!

...hate mobile posting!
Haha! I've definitely instituted mommy-son nap-times before. They're heaven.

This lady's links were what got me started: https://www.youtube.com/user/SmartHandsCA?feature=watch
I like that she shows how to say a sign, explains a way to remember the sign, and then shows when a kid says a sign too.
