Hey all,
So I had my 6 week ultrasound today and we saw a fetal pole and a heartbeat of 117! I was so excited until the technician said that my endometrial sac was "pretty small." Does anyone know why this is? Is there something I can do to increase it? A little back history is that I had an ectopic pregnancy in August and this is our second go around. We had an ultrasound last week and they only saw an endometrial sac and a yolk sac but no embryo so they thought it wasn't viable. I opted to obviously wait another week before doing anything and also asked for Prometrium because my progesterone has been low. I just don't know what's going on. The fetal pole measured at exactly 6 weeks and 3 days (which I am today) so that seemed good. I'm just worried that a small endo. sac means that this is destined for a miscarriage. Any advise would be much appreciated. Thanks!
Re: 6 Week Ultrasound
Congrats on your good u/s. There is nothing you can do to increase sac size. Did you find out what it is measuring at that makes it "pretty small"? You usually like to see both fetus and sac measuring right along together. If you are concerned with it then I would ask your Doc what their concerns are if any.
It is still very early in the game and things can catch up still.
best wishes!
