1 more day & question about trigger shots...

Okay, well our little getaway was a complete success!  I was able to relax and even lay by the pool!! But, back to reality! I've been trying to stay off of the computer b/c I just want to google and google and google - which I think amps me up. Tomorrow is the big follicle check day - I'm excited, yet scared at the same time - did I grow, did I not?  

 My RE mentioned a trigger shot (I think I posted about this previously) but won't order it until I complete this final round under the OB's care.  But, I'm thinking of going in tomorrow and asking/demanding that he prescribe me the shot if the follicles are large enough.  Would this be out of line?  Also I'd like to ask for b2b IUI cycle...am I rushing things?  Should I try one cycle w/out the shot and just one IUI - or do some people do b2b right away? I'm just so, so tired of this process (as I'm sure you all understand) but at the same time don't want to turn into an IF-zilla either...

If I was going through the trouble of doing an IUI, I would request a trigger shot. This way timing would be perfect. As for b2b IUI, I can't really comment bc I never did one.

Oh, so are B2B IUI's not all that common? In my head I had it worked out that most people did B2B (perhaps that's b/c to me the odds seem better so I just told myself that!).

I honestly couldn't say. I just know my clinic never offered them but obviously some REs prefer them.
If you've got good numbers from your DHs sample and your timing is good one IUI can def do the job, KWIM?

Yes, I suppose that makes sense!! So far we've only had a SA and everything looked great.  Fingers crossed that's still the case!  Guess I will only campaign for the trigger shot then!!   THANK YOU!

I agree with pp... if doing an IUI I would ask for trigger shot for best timing.  Some RE's do btb iui's.  Mine does not unless there is  MFI.  I read a bit about them in some journals and articles and there is no evidence to really support them statistically.  Most people have success with one well timed iui and sex that same night or next morning.  But a b2b couldn't hurt your chances.  If your dr will do it, then why not.

My siggy hasn't updated for the past 2 weeks but we're in IUI #2.  Our Dr has me do trigger shot and b2b which I prefer, they want the sperm to be there before and after eggs release.
