1st Trimester

Nausea & Vomiting

While i know it's common, this isn't letting up. The DR even prescribed some nausea vomiting pills but im still throwing up some.

I've tried ginger ale, saltines, snacking on cherrios and such, wrist bands, sweetarts, gateorade, you name it ive tried it.

I am 11 weeks now, hoping that this will lighten up soon :( I just needed to wine to someone

Re: Nausea & Vomiting

  • I found sucking on hard sour candy helps... for me the green apple jolly ranchers do the trick, sometimes cherry will work. I do not reccomend getting preggy pops (you pay way too much for something that tates aweful and doesn't work... well at least not for me)

  • Jolly Ranchers helped a little but to be honest, I threw up every day the whole time I was pregnant, it might not go away.

  • What medication did your ob put you on? With my 1st baby phenergan only made me tired but zofrAn was a lifesaver! I had nausea at any given time of day for the first 1213 weeks. Toast with PB first thing in the morning helped, as did sucking on mints and only taking my prenatal after I had food in my tummy.

  • When all else fails hard candy... YES!! I just don't know how many pieces a day bc nausea only goes away while candy is in mouth. You should be a lot better once this tri is done.
  • I am sorry. "/ That sounds aweful. I hope you start feeling better soon.

  • I can empathize, though maybe not quite as severe. I am 8w 4d and have thrown up several times each morning for two weeks. Then the queasiness just remains sometimes all day. I am a teacher and it is so hard to push through my morning classes without running out! Eating six small meals is the only way to go because my tummy never wants to be completely full or completely empty. Hardly any of the foods I used to love sound good - not even mac and cheese, Starbucks, or my favorite sub place! The hard candy is a good tip and I will try it, but I hate the feeling of sugar all over my mouth and teeth all day.

Someone mentioned Zofran (Zophran?). I might have to call my doctor for it, but is it worth it?
