Mold in DD's toothpaste!

So, DD and I were getting ready to brush our teeth before heading to the market earlier....and was completely and utterly disgusted to see black flecks of what appears to be MOLD come out of her tube of toothpaste!

I squeezed out a bunch more of the toothpaste into the sink, and it appeared that the entire contents of the tube was riddled with this mold. 

We've been using BabyGanics brand, see pic below.  I'm so grossed out.  If anyone else uses this, please check your tube before giving it to your kid(s)!  A quick google search showed that I am not the first person to encounter this issue with this product.

Not yet, but I am going to.

My google search brought me to their FB page, where someone had written about the exact same complaint a mere three hours ago.  So I added a comment to that, saying I experienced the same issue.  I am still planning to call, though.

I never thought about toothpaste being able to grow mold -- that is just NASTY.

I have the green kind and its clear. Now I'm paranoid!! Thanks for the heads up!

That's what I said!  Isn't toothpaste supposed to kill bacteria and things that would generally grow mold??
