A friendly tip, you will be much better received across the boards if you use proper spelling and grammar.
Congrats! You are in for a wild ride! My daughter was a December baby too, but last December (2011). Check out the Two Under 2 board (2U2), everyone there knows what it's like to have two babies under 2 years old and there are some irish twins over there too.
Proud babywearing, breastfeeding, vaccinating SAHM of 2U2!
Hasn't happened to me this is my first pregnancy but a friend of mine had "irish twins" when her son was two months old she found out she was pregnant with her daughter. It really threw her for a surprise!
Maybe, but the term "Irish twins" is still pretty offensive and derogatory.
Hmm, don't know a single Irish person who finds it offensive. WTF is offensive about it?
Insinuating they like to have sex?
THE HORROR
No it's not offensive at all. I'm Irish and we all (literally ALL) know it's meant as joke that we tend to breed like bunnies, which is a source of pride lol. Don't go looking for crap to be offended about.

Actually it implies a lot more than that and it is offensive. And it would be more offensive to North Americans of Irish descent. (Mainly Catholic)
Look up the history if you want a full explanation.
It is offensive.
EDIT I know it's known in elsewhere but however it's used there it was not used in a friendly manner here. (I am in Canada) The Irish Catholics were not a welcome bunch when they came over a long time ago.

It is offensive to many. It wasn't aimed at all Irish. It was aimed mainly at Irish Catholics. It is not looking for something to be offended at any more than someone might be offended at gyp. (which is also offensive)
You don't mind it. Good for you. It was used in North America against Irish immigrants and it wasn't used in a friendly manner.
I am sure implying another group tends to "breed like bunnies" would be wrong. What if it was Mexican twins or Indian twins?
Maybe, but the term "Irish twins" is still pretty offensive and derogatory.
as an Irish chick (check the pasty white skin and hair) I know its actually more a religious comment lol. It was because Ireland is mostly Catholics and they don't believe in birth control... I am NOT offended by the term. and I don't think its derogatory... I think its cause us Irish chicks get it on woop woop

haha. they (/my ancestors) weren't welcome in the USA either. The main negative term flung towards them was "Mic" I guess that's part of why I don't mind it

Isn't an Irish twin when BOTH babies born from 2 separate pregnancies occur within the same year?nbsp; ie:nbsp; January 2013 and then Nov or Dec 2013?
Lurking...it's when they are born within 12 months of each other or earlier...Oi vey!! God Bless the parents of Irish Twins!! Sorry if I offended anyone with "God"!
I'm an Irish Catholic. Absolutely NOT offended. I can't stand how people get uptight for the sake of causing drama. But, the bump would be nothing without the occasional MUD!

Can we get back to talking about the trainwreck of an OP?
Lets's stay focused.
