...of all you ladies who get to go to the doctor soon! mine doesn't want to see me until the end of march i'll be 9 weeks by then. i've read that this is typical, but is it really? i want to see my little peanut already!
Don't be- early ultrasounds can cause unnecessary stress and worries- at least they did in my case- next time I will request to wait until 9 weeks for the first
I wouldn't be jealous of these women, truthfully. They've usually suffered IF or loss. Going to the doctor "soon" is not a privilege, but a necessity for these women who have had a long, hard journey.
My first appointment was at 8 weeks. It is the norm, unless you have a history of loss or other health concerns.
This.
My first u/s was done in my RE office and thats when I found out I was pregnant and they were able to see I was 8w4d at the time. My first BFP I had an earlier u/s down and yes all it did was stress me out bc it was too early to see much of anything. Be patient and keep yourself busy until your appt so time will fly.
BFP #1 11/07/2012 EDD 07/09/2013 M/C 11/22/2012
BFP #2 02/05/2013 EDD 09/19/2013
Arrived via c-section 09/27/2013
yes it is normal! unfortunately fo rme I have already been hospitalized for hyperemisis gravidarum, but I got to see my peanut and hear the heartbeat! It was amazing, but if I were you I would enjoy the fact that you have the option to wait to see your baby because it means nothing is wrong!
As painful as the wait has been I'm glad I'm not going until 9 weeks. At least if everything is ok I'm more reassured that the pregnancy will bring me my precious baby!
I didn't see my doctor until I was 9 weeks (although I thought I was 8 weeks). It's very typical, and most people who are seeing their doctor earlier are people who had to use treatments to get pregnant. I know the wait is hard, but it will be here before you know it! Try to keep yourself occupied in the meantime.
Yes, it's typical. Also, no guarantee that you'll see your "little peanut" at your first visit. Not all doctors have U/S machines and even if they do they don't typically perform U/S at every appointment.
Maybe you can get a blood test done in the mean time to allay your nerves? I got one last week (still waiting for the results - darn Monday holiday!) and don't have my first real appt. until 8wks + 4days.
