Wendy?

What do you ladies think of Wendy? I love the literary connection to Peter Pan but I am not sure of the name as a stand alone. I dislike Gwendolen.

Just think of how cute a nursery with a peter pan theme would be! haha.

I'm not a fan of Wendy.  Reminds me of the fast food restaurant.  But Peter Pan nursery sounds cute.

I love Peter Pan and the nursery idea which I have also considered myself. I am not a fan of Wendy which is why I am thinking of using the middle name Moira for my LO if she is a girl.

ZOMG! We had played with the idea of Wendy, as a nn for Gwendolyn, but we feel it didn't go well with DD's name (Esme) and we dislike the nn Gwen. But ZOMG now I am already picturing the nursery in my head!! LOL

ZOMG! We had played with the idea of Wendy, as a nn for Gwendolyn, but we feel it didn't go well with DD's name (Esme) and we dislike the nn Gwen. But ZOMG now I am already picturing the nursery in my head!! LOL

I have found some adorable ideas on pinterest and google haha! I have a feeling this will be the nursery either way.

I have a cousin named Wendy, not as a nickname. I think it is a lovely name and works well as a standalone.

I would love to meet a Wendy! Easy to say and spell, obviously feminine, and the literary connection. Downside: if she ever worked at Wendy's....

And to some this may appear a dated name, but please remember that there's a power to using a name between the modern and the 100yearrule. It will stand out and be familiar at the same time, a goal many namers try to shoot for. It only takes one young face to give a name a new feeling.

Love Wendy.  Love the Peter Pan theme.   Don't love them together.  

In fact, it's a tad bit cheesy to match your child to her room decor.

I like Wendy.  I also knew a girl named Windy, which was kind of interesting/cool.  I think her parents were hippies

I love it. We have a relative named this (she's in her 40's) and it suits her very well.

 This is the best response I have ever seen for a 'common' name!  IRL, I know 1 Wendy who is in her late 20's and 1 Windy who is 13.  Please don't name her Windy.

I know 3 Wendy's (ranging from mid-30's to mid-50's).  It is a stand alone name for all of them.  I've never heard it as a nn for Gwendolyn.
