the hospital should supply everything you need for baby. you can always bring a 'coming home' outfit for him/her if you want, and if you're in colder climates, maybe a mid-weight blanket to keep him/her warm for the ride home.
i packed a newborn sleep and play, a 0-3 month sleep and play, a mid-weight blanket, a hat, and a pair of mittens.
It completely depends on your hospital. Mine supplies pretty much everything- diapers, wipes, a light weight cap, a hand knit hat, a small kit with a brush, nail clippers, nail file, nasal aspirator, thermometer, vaseline, gauze (if you have a boy and you circumcise), layette gowns, blankets... everything. Last time I kept him in the layette gown until it was time to come home because it made diaper changes much easier, was easier for the nurses when they took him to weigh him, and I kept having to undress him to BF him so the fewer clothes the better. For the baby I have the car seat in the car, a blanket to throw over it (its still chilly here) and the baby book for the footprints. We are team green and decided that after we had the baby DH would take our son to pick out the take home outfit for his sibling.
I probably will just pack a coming home outfit plus a spare (both DDs spit up after we put their clothes on to go home before) and maybe a pack of wipes. The hospital had dry wipes that you use with water and I'm spoiled now with my Costco wipes. :-) I'll probably leave a blanket with the carseat in case it's chilly out.

If you have already decided on a bottle or brand of formula to use then bring those if they are different than the brand the hospital uses. If youre cloth diapering then bring those with you along with a wet bag. Other than that the hospital will have everything for you to use there all you need is a coming home outfit, blanket and socks for the new baby
4 NB Diapers, Small Pack of Wipes, Travel Sized Baby Powder, Changing Pad & a Small tube of of Diaper Rash Cream. The hospital will usually provide most of this but I am paranoid about getting stuck somewhere in transit.
4 Outfits with hats and socks. One for pictures, two to tell my LO from the others through the nursery windows when he isn't with us. & One for going home.
Three Blankets, There is a really good possibility here for it to be cold when I deliver. I have one to cover him and one to cover the Car Seat on the way home. and one receiving blanket, I also used these with my little girl when she was born for backdrops in the hospital photo's. The picture lady really loved me for this. We had fun.
Grooming Kit. Nail Clippers, Hair Brush, fine tipped booger sucker, lol, Baby Wash and Lotion. They will give baby a bath after birth you can have them use your own soap if you want. I plan on clipping his nails as a must, I don't want him to scratch his face.
Pacifier, bottles (no more than 2), & formula (these are an if this is your plan kind of thing.) I am breast feeding so I have Nursing pads and shields, nipple butter and a cover.
1 Velcro Swaddle. Swaddling at 4 a.m. is no fun. Velcro makes it easier.
Camera with extra memory card. Filming daddy change that first diaper is a Riot to watch in slow motion.
Extra cash to buy food and pictures.
Memory book and things for little foot prints. The nurses as long as they know ahead of time can do these before the Lo's bath.
Front and back Copies of Insurance info and Early registration forms as well as my birth plan. My DH was serious about this being in the baby bag. This way all he needs to do is hand them to the triage nurse on the way in and not have to fill out a ton of papers if I am in labor.
This is a lot of stuff. BUT, it's all super tiny. I still have room to spare in my bag. I am going to put some chap stick breath mints and hand sanatizer down in there and probably a few snacks for DH too.
For DD, we just brought her coming home outfit. This time around we're in a different hospital and on the tour they showed us the clothes and blankets they typically provide with the express view of getting us to bring our own. They looked awful, thin and very scratchy. I don't really think DS will need to be in clothes as I mostly kangarooed DD in the hospital, but I'm definitely bringing some softer blankets and swaddlers.
I'm also going to bring NB diapers and wipes, only because I've got a brand I like now and want to use those. But that's just personal preference.
Here's a link with easy to understand and a simple list of everything you should bring to the hospital WITH PICTURES from a second time mommy.https://makeoverwithaspen.blogspot.com/2013/07/what... She also has a birth-plan, healthy (and yummy) recipes, what to pack in babies hospital bag and lots lots more! Stop by, check it out, comment and follow! She's also doing a giveaway soon! There is so much baby and mommy stuff!
Not all hospitals will provide you with what you need so make no assumptions unless you ask and get confirmation. Mine is a small community birthing center/hospital and they don't supply much. Also babies stay in your room, there is no nursery at my hospital. I've actually packed the baby bag (still not even thinking about mine although I probably should soon...) but here's what I have:
Couple of outfits (including the going home outfit)
Socks and a Hat for going home
Diapers
Swaddlers
Car Seat
White noise machine
Burp Rags
Again, a few of these things are special because of my hospital. They provide white onsies and those hospital swaddle blankets, but I'm not a fan so I plan to bring/use my own. Same with diapers. The white noise machine is to help us both sleep and of course burp rags for burping after feedings!

Yes, the same here. We needed only our car seat , blanket and outfit. I actually prepared 2 sizes ( NB and from 0-3 month) . Good luck.
My 2nd Lo's Baby Bag is as follows
The bag its self
4 NB Diapers, Small Pack of Wipes, Travel Sized Baby Powder, Changing Pad & a Small tube of of Diaper Rash Cream. The hospital will usually provide most of this but I am paranoid about getting stuck somewhere in transit.
