Babies: 3 - 6 Months

epidural spot pain

My LO is almost 7 weeks.  I had an epidural.  It took the anesthesiologist 3 tries to get it in the right place.  I have been having pain in the area this whole time, but now it seems to be getting worse.  Has anyone had any problems like this?  I didnt have any pain like this with my 4 yr old.

  • My sister did. It took the anthestist (sp?) 3 tries as well to get it in. Her daughter is a year old and she still has pain from it.

My epidural went in "perfectly" and it does still hurt sometimes...not as often as my sister, but it is there sometimes.

  • I do. He poked me 10x and then i still got another one an hr later. I use a heating pad
  • Mine had to do it 2x, he warned me it could cause chronic back pain or headaches, I still wanted it! It hurt for a while but now it's rare for me thankfully.

  • I had an epidural too. The anesthesiologist got it right in, and even after 3 months of having my LO, I was still sore, especially when I leaned back. My OB said it was normal, and that it is like a bruise where the needle/catheter went in. My OB said she had one with one of her children, and it took her 6 months to feel completely normal again (with the epidural spot pain).

I would definitely talk to your doctor though.
